GF1 BRANOtect (Corrosion Protection Fluid)
CharacteristicsBRANOtect A III and BRANOtect Export are light corrosion-protection fluids from refined mineral oil, petroleum distillate and corrosion-protection additives. BRANO-tect contains neither silicones nor lanolin. These products are characterised by their excellent creep properties, good lubricating action and dewatering effect.
BRANOtect provides a versatile aid in the handling of metal components. It works by forming an exceptionally thin, but highly effective temporary protective film against corrosion on all metals. It creeps along the surface of the metal and into clearances, cracks and pores and displaces elements such as adhesive moisture. It lubricates all moving metal surfaces and moving parts.
BRANOtect F is a low-viscosity, solvent-free, hydrocarbon-based corrosion-protection oil. It builds a protective film of oil on the surface of metals after application.
Scope of protectionBRANOtect A III and Export are suitable for use with all metals. BRANOtect F provides protection for iron (steel, grey cast iron) and non-ferrous metals (copper, brass, bronze). Protection duration: Dependent on climate, air pollution levels and the cleanliness of the metal surface. The following can be used as a guide:

Application and dosageProtection during transport for all metal surfaces, mass-produced products, precision work pieces, assembly, machinery, accessories, tools, soldered joints and all moveable components. As a preservative for use between processing steps, during intermediate storage needs (i.e. stock manufacturing, weekend, close down or discontinuation). As an aid with assembly work. Its creep properties also mean that BRANOtect is excellent at loosening tight screws.
Other applications: As a household lubricant and for vehicle maintenance and care. |
BRANOtect F: Its main use is as an intermediate preservative, but it can also be used as a final preservative for storage purposes. Also suitable for transport within Europe in the right packaging.
It is applied by dipping, spraying or brushing. Let any excess drip off. Do not apply to hot components.
BRANOtect products are to be used exclusively for the stipulated applications (packaging/preservation of metal parts susceptible to damage). We accept no liability for consequential damage resulting from improper use.
Available product sizes10, 20, 50 and 200 litre drums available; 400 ml aerosol cans.
CompatibilityMost plastics and pigmented coatings are not affected by BRANOtect. Compatibility testing is recommended for bitumen and rubber products.
Preservative removalBecause of the thinness of the protective film, removal will often be unnecessary. But BRANOtect A III and Export can also be removed easily using the usual cleaning and degreasing procedures.
For most general mechanical applications (drilling, lathing, turning etc.) there is no need to remove the BRANOtect F protective film. The protective film does have to be removed (degreasing) for surface coating purposes (galvanizing, painting). This can be done using standard metal industry practices - according to the requirements of the surface-coating procedure to be used.
StorageDo not store in direct sunlight. The drums must be kept permanently closed.
DisposalWaste BRANOtect A III falls under the special monitoring category of the German „Kreislaufwirtschafts- und Abfallgesetz” (Federal Waste Ordinance) and is also subject to this law’s other relevant regulations.
It can be introduced into a suitable energy recovery plant or disposal process.
