Sustainability

Nature provides the substance of life, for us and for future generations. This is why it is essential that we respect and protect our environment at all times.

This begins with the raw papers and ends with our finished Blechrein products. Our papers are sourced from PEFC-certified production, which guarantees sustainable forest management. As such, our products are made of fully recyclable paper and pulp. At the same time, our work processes are DIN ISO 14001-certified. Furthermore, around a quarter of our annual electricity needs are supplied by our own photovoltaic system. In addition to using renewable energy, our top priority is to reduce air pollutant emissions. In 2010, we installed an incinerator specifically for this purpose with the aim of minimising energy consumption.

Certification

Papers from FSC or PEFC-certified production are used in the production of our Blechrein papers. FSC® and PEFC are transparent and independent systems for ensuring sustainable forest management and are recognised worldwide. FSC® stands for “Forest Stewardship Council®”, an international organisation that promotes the environmentally friendly, socially responsible and economically reasonable management of the world's forests. BRANOpac GmbH is committed to the FSC values and has signed the Corporate Social Responsibility policy (CSR), which incorporates the FSC core labour requirements.

PEFC stands for “Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification”. The entire production process – from the raw material to the ready-to-use end product – is certified and monitored by independent experts. BRANOpac GmbH declares its commitment to implementing and maintaining, defining and documenting the CoC requirements in accordance with the valid PEFC standard.

In addition to the sustainability concept, we also guarantee the food safety of all our products. This is because the production facility of our Blechrein cooking and baking papers has been awarded the “BRC Packaging Certificate” by DQS CFS GmbH. This is a food hygiene certificate recognised worldwide by the “Global Food Safety Initiative”.

Furthermore, the company is certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN EN ISO 14001:2015, which confirms the use of a quality and environmental management system and applies to the production and sale of food papers and advice on customer-specific application problems.

“Hessen nachhaltig” (“Hessen Sustainable”) is a local climate change charter whose action plan aims to reduce environmentally harmful emissions and calls on regional companies to support the objectives of this charter. By signing the charter, BRANOpac declares its readiness to take an active role in the fight against climate change.
